ALBAWABA- U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed hope that Saudi Arabia will soon join the Abraham Accords, framing it as a personal wish, hope, and even a “dream” for the future of Middle East peace.

Speaking during his visit to Riyadh, the first stop on his second-term international tour, Trump said, “It is my great hope, my wish, and even my dream that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will soon join the Abraham Accords. They will do so on their own time, and we respect that.”

Trump praised the achievements of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, highlighting the Kingdom’s rapid development.

In a light moment, he asked the Crown Prince, “Do you sleep at night? How can you, when you're tossing and turning, wondering how to get things done right?” The Crown Prince replied, “I’m trying.”

Drawing a sharp contrast between the region’s trajectories, Trump remarked, “Buildings in Tehran are collapsing due to neglect, while high-rises are being built across the Gulf.”

The visit comes amid a flurry of diplomatic activity, as Trump seeks to solidify trade deals and strategic partnerships following a wave of new U.S. tariffs.

After Saudi Arabia, the president is scheduled to visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, both of which play pivotal roles in Gulf diplomacy and economic cooperation.

U.S. officials hope that Trump's push for normalization between Israel and Arab states will gain renewed momentum, with Saudi Arabia’s eventual participation seen as a cornerstone of broader regional peace.
